Description

Samantha Powell earned her PhD from the University of Oklahoma in the lab of Dr. George Richter-Addo, using X-ray crystallography to study heme proteins and Clostridium difficile  nitroreductases and their interactions with small molecules. From 2019-2020, she was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow at the Air Force Research Lab in San Antonio, TX studying the mechanisms of photobiomodulation. Samantha joined PNNL in 2020 as a postdoctoral researcher in the Biostructure and Function team. At PNNL she serves as a key member across multiple projects investigating both structure and function, using CryoEM (single particle and microcrystal electron diffraction (MicroED)), cell-free expression, native mass spectrometry, and biochemical assays. She also leads the nanobody generation pipeline.
