Velos Pro Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer

Description

The Thermo Scientific (https://www.thermofisher.com/) "Velos Pro Orbitrap Mass Spectrometer" [MS:1003096] instrument data source combines advanced mass accuracy with an ultra-high resolution Orbitrap mass analyzer for increased sensitivity, enabling molecular weight determination for intact proteins and in-depth analyses of isobaric species. The Velos Pro Orbitrap instrument additionally provides high resolution mass spectra (HMS) with optional electron transfer dissociation (ETD) [MS:1000598] and higher-energy collisional dissociation (HCD) [MS:1002481] for generating complementary information supporting highly sensitive post-translational modification (PTM) analytical results and de novo sequencing. Lipid analyses are performed by coupling an MS inlet to an Agilent/Waters system and a mobile phase optimized for lipid soluble metabolites.
